A number of Taylor Swift’s friends were photographed all dressed up and headed… somewhere.

With rumors that Swift and Travis Kelce are throwing a rehearsal dinner on July 2 at Madison Square Garden, some of her pals are out and about.

E! News shared a photo of Jack Antonoff in a dark suit, white dress shirt and loafers stepping out. The musician and frequent Swift collaborator’s older sister, Rachel Antonoff, was also spotted wearing a feathered pink strapless gown, silver heels and red purse.

This is the same night that Selena Gomez also posted an Instagram story video of herself all glammed up, riding in a car and on her way to an undisclosed location.

With temperatures rising to 100 in New York on July 2, the Weather Channel took an opportunity to get in on the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news cycle.

“I guess the temperature took ‘keep it 100 on the land, the sea, and the sky’ really literally this week,” the Weather Channel wrote on Threads, referencing Swift’s song “The Fate of Ophelia.”

The Weather Channel’s Instagram account also shared the post, adding, “For the first time since July 2012, Central Park officially hit the 100-degree mark today as a historic heat wave bakes New York City.”

People in the comments applauded the Weather Channel’s social media, with one writing, “Is The Weather Channel a Swifty?!? I approve!”

“LOVE the TS ref!” one person commented.

“Excellent work social team,” another added.

Could Selena Gomez be on her way to Madison Square Garden?

The singer, a longtime close friend of Taylor Swift, shared an Instagram story on July 2 promoting one of her new Rare Beauty lip products. But it seems the post might also double as a hint that she is headed to Swift and Travis Kelce’s smaller wedding reception.

In the clip, Gomez was dressed to the nines in what appeared to be a black gown that she paired with dangling earrings. She also appeared to be riding in a SUV, headed to an unknown location. She cheekily added Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” to the post.

Wherever she is on her way to, Gomez may be without her plus-one, husband Benny Blanco. Also on July 2, the 33 year old shared a romantic snap of her and the music producer sitting on a couch together.

“I wish benny was here rn,” she caption the pic and included a heart emoji.

Workers were seen setting up a large white tent outside Madison Square Garden, as well as barricades. Privacy is a large concern for any star-studded and large event, especially if it’s a wedding for a high profile couple like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

Spokesperson for the New York City Mayor’s Office Dora Pekec confirmed to NBC News that a permit filed with the city requested street closures near the arena, a crowd between 500 and 999 people, and a tent set up outside.

NBC News’ Chloe Melas is outside MSG reporting on what is going on in the area.

As the rumored wedding festivities for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce continue, the NFL star’s joint podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, “New Heights,” revealed they have a “special guest” making their debut.

A new episode is expected to drop on Friday, July 3.

Fans in the comment section are speculating that it could be someone close to Swift, such as her brother Austin Swift or dad, Scott Swift.

“If it’s Scott or Austin…such perfect timing,” one person wrote, while another added, “Austin Swift. That’s Travis’ Bachelor party shirt. They’re trying to distract us!”

It looks like the workplace is off-limits to some Madison Square Garden staff members.

Corporate employees are not allowed back into the Garden until Sunday, July 5, at 5 p.m., a source at the arena told NBC News. The restriction has been in effect since Tuesday, June 30, the source added.

The timing appears to line up with an internal police planning memo, first reported by The New York Times and confirmed by NBC News. In it, it detailed security measures for the event that included a July 2 rehearsal dinner at the Garden’s Infosys Theater and July 3 nuptials. The details are subject to change, the source said.

It turns out, one of the most high-profile weddings in history reportedly went digital when it came to the invitations, a source who was invited to the nuptials told NBC News.

According to the invited source, roughly 1,100 guests are expected to attend the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, that is speculated to occur ahead of the July 4 weekend. People received not only electronic invites, but also non-disclosure agreements.

Digital invitations are becoming more popular for contemporary weddings. According to a survey conducted by wedding website Joy, roughly 30% of participants used electronic-only invites. And more than 70% of survey participants used online invitations in some way for their wedding.

With plenty of chatter swirling around the venue and security presence seen in the area, Madison Square Garden is rumored to be the site of Taylor Swift’s alleged wedding.

It turns out, the 14-time Grammy award-winner once referenced the legendary venue in a song — 13 years before getting engaged to NFL player Travis Kelce.

“They say you bought a bunch of land somewhere/ Chose the rose garden over Madison Square/ And it took some time, but I understand it now,” Swift sings in her song “The Lucky One” from “Red,” her fourth studio album.

The song, written from the perspective of a retired entertainer, warns listeners about the spotlight’s effect on personal privacy. It also touches on the fear of becoming obsolete.

Why might Swift have chosen “Madison Square” instead of a “rose garden” for her nuptials? Well, she actually has a storied connection to the entertainment venue.

Throughout her career, Swift has made eight stage appearances at the Garden.

In August 2009, she performed her first headlining show, a sold-out stop in New York City on the “Fearless” tour.

In 2011, Swift returned to the venue for two sold-out nights of her “Speak Now” tour. There, she was joined by two famous guests: longtime friend and fellow singer Selena Gomez and singer-songwriter James Taylor, after whom she is named.

Swift’s visits to MSG are not limited to the stage. Swift recently attended a NBA Finals game with celebrity friends Mariska Hargitay and the Haim sisters.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are celebrating their rumored nuptials by giving back.

The couple has donated $26 million to a group of charities across the U.S. this week, including multiple in New York organizations, ahead of their alleged ceremony, Swift’s rep confirmed to NBC News.

The Store, which helps with food insecurity in Middle Tennessee and was founded by country singer Brad Paisley and actor Kimberly Williams-Paisley, posted a message on Instagram Thursday, July 2, thanking the couple.

“Thank you, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce,” read the post. “Your generosity is providing food and hope to families in need.”

In the caption, the charity added, “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for their transformative gift to The Store. Their kindness will help more families across Middle Tennessee access fresh, healthy food with dignity and choice, and we’re honored to have their support.”

The charity also congratulated the two on their nuptials.

“Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness as you begin this next chapter together. Thank you for helping make a difference in the lives of our neighbors,” The Store said.

Williams-Paisley also left a comment expressing her gratitude.

“We are beyond grateful to @taylorswift and @killatrav for this generous gift to The Store! This will go a long way toward supporting our neighbors in need in Nashville. You are both an inspiration!” she said, adding three red heart emojis.

Nonprofit Education Through Music revealed in a press release that they received a $2 million gift from the bride and groom. The organization, which provides music education for students in under-resourced schools across New York City, said the donation will expand opportunities.

“At Education Through Music, we believe every child deserves access to the joy, creativity, and confidence that music education provides,” said Janice Weinman, the group’s chief executive officer, in a statement. “Taylor and Travis’s extraordinary generosity is a powerful affirmation of that belief.”

Weinman added: “This gift will help us reach more students, support more music teachers, and ensure that music remains a meaningful part of a child’s core education, especially in schools where access to the arts is too often limited.”

New York Cares shared a message on Instagram, too. The statement referenced two of the pop icon’s hits.

“Dear Taylor and Travis, We’re Enchanted to receive your generous gift to support New Yorkers in need. Thank you for making our mission a part of your Love Story. Best wishes, New York Cares,” the statement read.

The caption said, in part, “What do you give your favorite wedding couple? The gift of giving back. New York Cares is honored and delighted to receive a gift from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who have chosen to celebrate their love by investing in those in need.”

Feeding America wrote in a Facebook post, “Thank you, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, for your generous $2 million gift to Feeding America! This support builds on Taylor’s ongoing commitment to neighbors across the country and brings us all closer to a future where everyone has the food they need to thrive. We’re so grateful to have partners like you in this work.”

The charities the couple donated to range from food banks to music programs and cancer centers.

Something certainly seem to be brewing outside Madison Square Garden, where Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are rumored to be getting married this week.

On July 2, police officers were seen setting up barricades around the legendary arena. Crews were already photographed as early as June 30 outside of the Garden, unloading trucks and moving around large items under tarps and black garbage bags. One crew member was seen wearing a “Taylor Swift Carpenters” shirt.

NBC News on July 1 confirmed a New York Times report of a memo distributed by police that includes details about the supposed wedding of Taylor Swift. A person familiar with the matter said the memo detailed a July 2 rehearsal dinner at the Infosys Theater at the venue starting at 6 p.m, and a wedding the following day starting at 5:30 p.m., where as many as 1,000 guests are expected to pack the Garden.

Madison Square Garden is certainly not a common wedding destination. But the venue has, in fact, hosted nuptials in the past with musician Sly Stone being the first to make wedding history there.

The Sly and the Family Stone frontman tied the knot with model Kathy Silva in 1974 during one of his concerts. According to the New York Times, the ceremony involved a full wedding party, including the couple’s four parents, and took place in front of 23,000 fans. The musician donned a gold-sequined cape while Silva sported a matching sheath gown for the big day, the outlet reported. Bishop B. R. Stewart of the Church of God in Christ officiated the ceremony.

Later on, a more private reception of 400 people was held at the Waldorf-Astoria.

The couple split just two years later.

With rumors of the high-profile wedding between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce allegedly taking place at Madison Square Garden this week, security in the area is likely going to be beefed up for the event.

NBC News has confirmed a New York Times report that an internal planning memo, distributed by police, details security measures for the alleged event. The internal police memo included information about a Thursday, July 2, rehearsal dinner at the Garden’s Infosys Theater that’s slated to begin at 6 p.m., and a wedding the next day, starting at 5:30 p.m. The July 3 alleged nuptials will have as many as 1,000 guests and wrap up at around 2 a.m., according to a person familiar with the matter.

The person added that while this is the initial plan shared with law enforcement, the times and details are subject to change. Additionally, the person said that they are unaware of any celebrities that may be expected to attend, cautioning that plans could evolve significantly.

During a briefing on security measures in New York City for the July 4th weekend, New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch referenced a major event, but declined to go into specifics.

“I would be remiss not to mention an event that we are tracking at Madison Square Garden on Friday night, the NYPD will, of course, have a detail in place,” Tisch said on July 1.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani also appeared to allude to the alleged wedding during the briefing while telling New Yorkers to prepare for the heat wave that’s expected to hit the Big Apple.

“My recommendation to all New Yorkers is to stay inside and stay cool and if you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool,” he said. “And I think it’s a good example to set that for the city at large.”

Wedding planners say that private security detail will also likely be needed in the area. Alyssa Pettinato, founder of New York–based luxury wedding planning and event design firm Alinato Events, tells TODAY.com that security will likely be among one of the biggest expenses for Swift’s alleged wedding. Securing the area would likely cost around $1 million to $2 million a day, she says.

“A private security company, often with former political security people, is expensive for those skills,” Pettinato says. “If you’re using them for multiple days to secure a site, and also monitor every single piece of it, from who comes in to what everyone’s doing in that room … It’s an operation.”

Is today the day?

NBC New York’s Tracie Strahan captured photos outside Madison Square Garden of NYPD officers holding papers reading ‘Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Wedding.’

The papers also read today’s date: “Thursday 7/2.”

NBC News confirmed July 1 that wedding festivities for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will take place at Madison Square Garden going into the Fourth of July weekend.

It’s still unclear if both the ceremony and reception are taking place at the Garden.

As rumors continue to swirl around the alleged wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden, there is one Old Hollywood icon whom Swift could be taking notes from when it comes to choosing a party venue — Elizabeth Taylor.

In 1957, a party was held, featuring the legendary actor as the guest of honor, at “The World’s Most Famous Arena.” The celebration served as a release party for “Around the World in 80 Days,” the Oscar award-winning film by her third husband, American theater and film producer Mike Todd, recalled broadcaster Walter Cronkiteto NPR in 2004. Cronkite had been tasked with covering the event for CBS.

The party included a cake that stood at around 14 feet in height, which Taylor cut to commemorate the occasion. The affair, Cronkite told NPR, boasted massive amounts of food including 36,000 doughnuts and 25,000 hot dogs. The party, Cronkite said, eventually devolved into a massive food fight.

Swift has long admired Taylor, frequently weaving references to the actor into her lyrics.

In Swift’s most recent studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” the song titled “Elizabeth Taylor” pays homage to the star of the silver screen. There is a grand total of 13 — if you know, you know — references to the British-American actor on the track. Swift even pressed the single onto purple-and-blue glitter vinyl in tribute to Taylor’s iconic, piercing eyes.

Taylor, who died in 2011, had been married eight times to seven different men. She was known to live a life of lavish luxury, often sporting high-end jewelry and living in opulent estates as a star who made an impressive fortune for a woman in Hollywood at the time. Her highly successful 1963 film “Cleopatra” made her the first actress to hit the $1 million mark with her earnings.

While few details have been shared about the alleged wedding between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, close friend George Kittle, a tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, disclosed one particular rule for what many expect to be the event of the year.

Kittle, who co-founded football camp Tight End University with fellow NFL player Kelce, told Extra TV that the couple told guests to bring “absolutely no gifts.”

Though Kittle said he might not stick to the plan.

“Travis, for some reason, likes old coins, so I might get him an old coin,” Kittle told the outlet at the “Tight Ends & Friends concert,” a star-studded musical celebration in Nashville on June 23 that concluded the camp. “Sounds expensive, too.”

Swift was among the artists at the concert, closing out the celebration with a performance with friend and country singer Lainey Wilson.

3d ago / 10:20 AM EDT

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani took to social media on July 1 to share some important heat wave information with New Yorkers while alluding to the alleged royal wedding.

Mamdani posted a video, warning NYC residents about the heat wave, that’s slated to hit 100 degrees, with temperatures “feeling as hot as 112” degrees.

“We’re ready. But we want to make sure you are too, especially if you’re celebrating the World Cup, or the 4th of July or renting out MSG to get married. Hypothetically,” Mamdani said, appearing to reference the nuptials between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce that are rumored to take place in Madison Square Garden this week.

“The most important thing you can do in this heat is to stay indoors with air conditioning,” Mamdani added, before advising those without air conditioning to visit the city’s cooling centers.

Mamdani also appeared to reference the alleged wedding during a briefing on July 1 about the city’s preparations for the holiday weekend.

“My recommendation to all New Yorkers is to stay inside and stay cool and if you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool,” he said. “And I think it’s a good example to set that for the city at large.”

With Taylor Swift’s wedding of the century rumored to be held at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden this summer, the question remains: What’s the price tag on a wedding at the World’s Most Famous Arena?

TODAY.com spoke to luxury wedding planners and event experts, who’ve had experience with organizing some of the most opulent parties and nuptials, to get their take on how much a MSG wedding could cost. While it’s impossible to pinpoint an exact number without details on guest count, decor and more, experts say the ballpark costs are, unsurprisingly, a pretty penny.

“You’re not getting out alive for under $15 million to $25 million,” estimates Alyssa Pettinato, founder of New York–based luxury wedding planning and event design firm Alinato Events.

New Details Emerge on Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce NYC Wedding

3d ago / 9:29 AM EDT

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might be going all out for their alleged wedding, with a massive, star-studded guest list.

But, the list of attendees is mostly top secret, as a source with knowledge of the matter told NBC News invitations were sent electronically and included non-disclosure agreements.

So far, singer Suki Waterhouse, Swift’s friend who opened for her during the “Eras Tour,” confirmed she will be supporting the couple on their big day.

While speaking about possibly marrying fiancé Robert Pattinson, Waterhouse said in an interview with Variety that there’s “nothing scarier than the actual planning part,” before mentioning Swift.

“I’m gonna go to Taylor’s wedding, and maybe I’ll get some inspiration,” Waterhouse said. “It will be amazing.”

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and his wife Claire have also confirmed they received a coveted invite. But Kittle told “Entertainment Tonight” that he has “no idea” where the wedding will take place.

“I actually asked Travis last night, and he laughed at me,” Kittle added. “I’m half expecting there just to be a jumbo jet on a runway and they put us on a plane somewhere. I don’t have expectations. I know it’s going to be amazing.”

There will potentially be hundreds of famous faces and friends, including Kelce’s football superstar brother Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie Kelce, in attendance. A source with knowledge of the matter, who has been invited, told NBC News that about 1,100 people are expected to participate in the wedding festivities at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3.

3d ago / 8:35 AM EDT

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had a meet-cute for the ages.

The couple, who announced their engagement last August through a joint Instagram post, began their love story during the singer’s record-breaking “Eras Tour” in the summer of 2023. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end made a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it with the intention to give the jewelry to the pop star. However he wasn’t able to do so, he said on his podcast, “New Heights,” hosted with his brother Jason Kelce.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” he said on the podcast. “So I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

Months later, dating rumors began to swirl between the two, and by September, Kelce addressed the chatter.

“I threw the ball in her court. I told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock a stage in Arrowhead and you might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead,’” he said in September 2023 on “The Pat McAfee Show” of his attempt to meet Swift at her concert in Kansas City. “We’ll see what happens in the near future.”

Swift was seen sitting next to Kelce’s mother Donna Kelce at her first Kansas City Chiefs game just days later.

With the two about to tie the knot, it certainly seems like it’s a love story, and baby, they’re about to say “yes.”

3d ago / 7:32 AM EDT

The royal wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce is likely going to be a multi-day event.

NBC News on July 1 confirmed a New York Times report of a memo distributed by police that includes details about the supposed wedding of Taylor Swift. A person familiar with the matter said the memo detailed:

A July 2 rehearsal dinner at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden starting at 6 p.m.
A July 3 wedding starting at 5:30 p.m., where as many as 1,000 guests are expected to arrive at Madison Square Garden.

That person said that the times and details are subject to change.

Signs from earlier in the week point to similar events and timing. A source, who is among the guests invited, told NBC News that possible wedding festivities are expected to take place on July 3 at MSG with approximately 1,100 people in attendance. The New York Times also reported that an intimate gathering of roughly 100 guests is slated for the day prior at the legendary venue.

The arena has blocked off July 2 through July 4 while planning for an event, a source at Madison Square Garden, who declined to be identified to discuss a confidential matter, told NBC News. However it is unclear whether the event is for Swift and Kelce.

A permit to close the streets surrounding the Garden for the same dates was also filed with the city, the Times first reported. Dora Pekec, a spokesperson for the New York City Mayor’s Office, confirmed that a permit was filed but did not share a copy of the paperwork or details on who filed it.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could be hearing wedding bells very soon!

Rumors that the couple, who have been engaged since August 2025, will tie the knot during the Fourth of July weekend have been gaining momentum over the past two weeks. A source at Madison Square Garden, who declined to be identified, confirmed to NBC News that the iconic venue has July 2 through July 4 blocked off for a major event. The source did not share if the dates were reserved for Swift and Kelce’s nuptials and other related festivities.

Swift and Kelce’s representatives have not responded to NBC News’ request for a comment.

Still, more signs continue to point to the duo possibly saying “I do” at MSG.

A New York City permit was filed to close the streets around MSG starting from July 2 to midday July 4, as first reported by The New York Times. Additionally, the permit requested permission for a crowd of approximately 500 to 999 people and a tent, Dora Pekec, a spokesperson for the New York City Mayor’s Office, told NBC News.

Pekec did not share a copy of the permit with NBC News and did not disclose who filed the paperwork.

The Times also reported that an event planning company called Winick Productions, which has held major red carpet events at MSG in the past, filed an application with New York City’s Street Activity Permit Office in early June.

It certainly seems possible that after she watched courtside as the Knicks made a huge Game 4 comeback, Swift could be returning to MSG for another momentous occasion.
